dockerps
I got tired of seeing the ugly output from docker ps and typing in a filter everytime got burdonsome, here is a shell script that gives a nice concise docker ps view:
Put the following into dockerps-setup.sh
touch /usr/bin/dockerps
echo "docker ps --format 'table {{.Names}}\t{{.Image}}\t{{.Status}}'" > /usr/bin/dockerps
chmod ugo+x /usr/bin/dockerps
Then
sudo sh dockerps-setup.sh
Voila, run dockerps as a docker user and you get a nice output of just the container name, the image its using and status.
dockerallps
For all containers, even those not running:
Put the following into dockerallps-setup.sh
touch /usr/bin/dockerallps
echo "docker ps -a --format 'table {{.Names}}\t{{.Image}}\t{{.Status}}'" > /usr/bin/dockerallps
chmod ugo+x /usr/bin/dockerallps
Then
sudo sh dockerallps-setup.sh
Run dockerallps as a docker user
And from https://developer.fedoraproject.org/tools/docker/docker-installation.html
To create the docker
group and add your user:
$ sudo groupadd docker && sudo gpasswd -a ${USER} docker && sudo systemctl restart docker
$ newgrp docker
